Review of Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) by Adam F — 27 Feb 2013
Oddly enough, part 2 of the horror franchise feels somewhat like a remake, with a similar beginning and ending, with a few significant changes here and there. It has some bad writing choices (the most interesting characters get killed much too early, and the protagonist is unclear or absent for significant portions of the film) and it's mostly scare-free for the first two thirds.
It does pick up at the end, but this is one of the less interesting chapters because it isn't as good as "Part 1" and doesn't start going into the really cheesy horror stuff you have to love to get a kick out the "Friday the 13th" films like part 3 does And "Jason" doesn't even have his trademark hokey mask yet.
You can easily skip this entry in the series unless you're a hardcore fan of Friday the 13th. (Dvd, April 13, 2012).
