Review of Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) by Kevin Y — 28 Jul 2008
Friday the 13th Part 2 is nearly the same film as its predecessor; a group of teenaged camp counsellors are killed off one by one at a summer camp until only two remain. However, there are enough differences to warrant a view; if you've seen the original and you liked it, this one will most likely appeal to you as well.
The death scenes are pretty boring compared to the original; there is a double-impalement scene, but not much is shown. The direction is a bit better this time around, with Steve Miner sitting behind the camera.
There isn't a whole lot of genuine suspense, and most of the scares come in the form of "jump scares", and the ending was shit as well, but as a whole, F13: 2 was a stupid yet enjoyable little film.
