What we have here is a competent, fun slasher film that one-ups its predecessor in almost every way. From the directing, pacing, and even to the acting this is clearly made from a director who knows what he's doing.
We get some insight on Jason's inner psyche that adds just enough humanity to the character to make us understand why he kills, even if we aren't 100% sympathizing with him (as we shouldn't be).
With a smart Final Girl(TM) and a perfectly directed last chase sequence Friday the 13th Part 2 should not be missed by fans of the slasher genre.
