Review of Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) by Jason J — 24 May 2010
5 years after the terrible events at Camp Crystal Lake, a new bunch of Summer camp counselors arrive there for training. Mrs Voorhees may be dead but is her son who was presumed drowned in the lake still roaming the area looking for revenge. Camp Crystal Lake is about to become awash with blood once again!!
A rehash of the original with less gore. This was the movie that introduced the iconic Jason Voorhees as the killer but he doesn't adorn the hockey mask we all know in this one, instead he's wearing a brown potato sack over his head. Even though it follows the formula from the original there's a couple of good frights and plenty of suspense in it including a typical 'let's throw in a surprise cheap scare' right at the end! The deaths are also a bit more creative such as the one involving a guy in a wheelchair who gets a machete to his face - nasty!!
It's a good sequel I'll give it that but the ending somewhat spoiled it.
