Review of Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) by M. C — 21 Aug 2015

I know I'm in the minority saying this, but I thought it was an improvement over the first one. On almost every level it's a better film. Its better written to start. The characters are much more interesting and colorful, the dialog is better, and the film flows much smoother thanks to the excellent direction.

This time around there's more focus on entertaining the audience than just being scary, so it's much more explicit and over-the-top than part one, which was really enjoyable. Friday the 13th Part 2 may sound like it's the same old thing as part one, as the setting and plot are nearly identical to that of number one, but a lot different is done with the same setup.

In all it's a much more enjoyable film than the first with a lot to offer for fans of slasher flicks. 76/100.
