Review of Friday the 13th (2009) by Rod B — 22 Jul 2012
The review for the Hard Core Jason Fans: While watching FDT13TH, one could easily be confused or conflicted.... See, it's 2009, and we're expecting our movies today to be smarter, Deaper, and more intelligent... BUT, let us wake up and drink some coffee.. THEY ARE NOT. There LESS Intelligent, Dumb, and insert word here.... oh, and they also think they can call a movie the same name as something we love, then change EVERYTHING and expect us to love it and pay for it. Doesn't work that way. Sorry...
So... while watching FDT13, I was expecting and hoping for something more... smarter, sharper, deaper........ Then, about half way through, it hit me. I'm watching Friday The 13th.... TO THE DIME. Every element that made Friday The 13th, Friday the 13th, was faithfully rendered into a new film for long time fans to enjoy. Nothing more, Nothing less. Now THAT is how you reboot something. It's not just a name that makes a franchise a franchise.. it's not the fact that it's called a COOKIE that makes Mrs Fields cookies taste so good... it's the ingredients that make those cookies. Any other cookie by the same name, wouldn't be MRS FIELDS... it would just be a cookie called MRS FIELDS... Get it? Got it? GOOD!
Great movie? No. But it doesn't want to be. It want's to be Friday The 13th, as advertised. And it is. That's what we paid for, thats what we got.
CH CH CH HA HA HA.
Perfect.
Thanks for playin!

The review for the rest of you:
Garbage. No Rob Zombie Halloween Garbage, but Garbage none the less. The cast is an assortment of stunnigly beautifull ladies who take there clothes off for you excessivily. If thats enough for you, then go see this movie. For me, I'd rather they kept there clothes on, got jobs at Mcdonalds and were replaced by good actors and a good movie. The movie follows the Friday the 13th Formula to a tee. A B C D E F G, from beginning to end. There was nothing new here. Been there, done that. No scares, no tension, no suspense, no lilkeable characters, and a lame lame lame lame LAME end (or is it!) to Jasons offensive. Sorry fans, Friday The 13th, is nothing more than the movies you've already seen, with a new set of boobs. Kill all you want, we'll make more...
