The film dies after the title appears (which took so long to appear).

The movie may be well written & all, but it lacks any interesting characters, & goes from a horror movie to a porn film. Yes, I know the original one had tons of sex in it as well, but at least the original one managed to keep it horror & not make it look like a porn film.

Cast/Acting: Travis Van Winkle is the only recognizable actor in this movie, that's if you remember him as the asshole jock from "Transformers". As for the rest of the cast members, they're all mainly no-names. The acting in this film wasn't bad, the actors in here tried their best, & did a great job at it.

Characters: None of them are interesting or memorable. The only person that you can remember is Jason Vorhees himself, but, who doesn't know who the slasher icon is?

Music/Score: Steve Jablosnky did a great job with his score. He did the same tone & even eerie music of all the other Friday the 13th franchises. While I'm not fan, he sure is one great composer, despite having quite a few bad scores (Transformers).

Plot/Story: The character Clay (Jared Padalecki) is searching fr his sister who disappeared a few months/weeks back. Sounds typical for a slasher film. This movie re-writes the story of Jason Vorhess a little better, but not good enough to surpass the original one. The plot's main problem is that it's missing the real story behind Jason. Plus, the film focuses heavily on sex & nudity. Now Nudity & sex isn't always a bad thing, this film overdid it, & sooner started becoming a pron film (hell I swear Jason was almost about to fap to the last sex scene).

Yes, the original Friday the 13th movie had a lot of sex & boobies in it, go figure, but the difference between the sex & tits in the old one from this one is that at least the first 13th movie TRIED to keep the film going on as a horror, not a damn porno.

And then comes the overall plot element of the movie, which is practically the same, but much more well structured, theme again & again: Jason walks around, Jason see campers, Jason must kill all campers & leave one or even 2 campers, & then Jason get killed only to come back again However, like I said, this movie does a better job at it. Unlike the predecessors that were the same thing over & over again; once you were given the obvious clue who was the main characters or so, then you can expect all of the other completely unimportant characters to get brutally murdered by Jason.

Dialogue: Can't say much about it. I guess it was well written. Nothing much to say.

Effects: We get the usual iconic gore from the franchise, which is well done.

Camera Work (OMG new category): Ok, this here was the major problem is with the movie. Every time the characters or Jason decided to run or when something violent happened, the camera could not sit still, like at all. One minute Jason is bursting through something, but we can't see what he's doing exactly because the fucking camera is shaking like mad!

Final summation, this film is well written, but has serious problems with characters, structure, plot elements already seen in the previous movies, & camera work.
