Review of Friday the 13th (2009) by Thief 1 — 26 Dec 2012
Remakes ... In recent years, it is set up is becoming very popular. When a company run out ideas, quickly comes to mind is the idea of restarting any successful franchise, adjusted for a new generation. But, as a rule, these attempts ended in failure. So it was with the "Halloween", with "A Nightmare on Elm Street", with "The Thing", with "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre." But the 12-th part of the adventures of Jason Voorhees came out, if not better than the original, then at least keep on the same level with him.
Twenty-nine years after the events of the first "Friday", a new group of stupid teenagers spent a few days at his father's house of one of them, located near the infamous "Camp Crystal Lake." But none of them knows what this camp is known and that lives there bloodthirsty killer, rose from the dead - Jason, wearing a hockey mask and armed with a sharp machete.
As you can see, the story is not much different from most of the "slasher" and brings together stamps that can. But, if you think about it the first "Friday" is also not known for the originality of the script, and the whole thrust of it was blood, guts and a sharp blade machete. A remake of the all prevalent in the highest degree. And of course, something to spoil in this situation will be very difficult. Here, there is no mystery of Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger of humor. But there is a silent and cruel Jason - that's all it takes. But seriously, this film - the most usual slasher, not bringing to the genre absolutely nothing new, but perfectly next to all his laws.
The new "Friday the 13th" can please all fans of the genre, which is the I am. Here no one invents new bike, but it should be well-tested scheme, which, believe me, it still works.
