Review of Friday the 13th (2009) by Jsharbour — 11 Oct 2015
Garbage. I've watched the entire Friday the 13th series in the past few months, so they are all fresh in my mind, and this 2009 remake is absolute garbage with no redeeming qualities and just stupid and brutal. There is also a huge plot failure where a woman escapes from Jason's underground hive, runs through the woods to escape, and then 30 minutes later is back in chains--with no explanation or scene explaining how she was re-captured. Edited out? What an epic fail.
I'm really not surprised at how bad this movie is because Michael Bay was involved in it. He should really just be banned from Hollywood. Next time I see his name come up front and center at the beginning, I'll just quit and save myself an hour. I did not finish this movie, just couldn't take it after an hour.
Yes, we know, death and sex go hand-in-hand. Put people in situations where they're having lots of sex and then murder them gets the adrenalin pumping. But seriously, this is 2015, not 1985. Aren't we beyond that primal crap by now? When it's this obvious it doesn't work. Sure, the girls are fun to look at, but I was at least expecting a bare minimum plot here IN ADDITION.
