My whole thought process on modern horror remakes is don't do it because they will wind up sucking. Instead just make another sequel instead of bastardizing the original. Texas Chainsaw remake was the epitome of all that is wrong with corporate horror so what could we expect from this? Well if this was the 12th Friday movie then it would have been great but it isn't so bad as a remake.

In fact this isnt much of a remake as anyone with a shred of cred will tell you that Jason's mom was the killer in the original and this more or less takes parts 1-3 and tries to be it's own beast.

Doesn't break any new ground but I thoroughly enjoyed it when I saw it in the theater.
