Review of Friday Night Lights (2004) by Jonathan M — 28 Aug 2008
This was a superb movie with superb acting. Billy Bob Thorton and Lucas Black were very convincing as Coach Gary Gaines and Quarterback Mike Winchell. The only thing that I didn't like about this movie was the inaccurate facts and equipment.
For example: Bobbie Miles was hurt before the season started and not in the first game and wore 35. Chris Comer was a junior and second screen tailback and wore 45 in real life. Brian Chavez was a tight end and wore 85 not a saftey wearing 4.
The nikes from the 80s did not look like to ones wore in the film and under armour wasn't even invented yet. Most importantly, Permian played Carter in the semifinals in Austin not the state finals in the Astrodome.
Other then those mistakes it was a wonderfl film.
