With the exception of Raging Bull (which could or could not be classified as a sports film) this film is, in my opinion, the finest sports movie ever made. And it probably is so because it uses the sport in question as a framework to tell a true and emotional tale of expectation, domination and human drama.
A true ensemble anchored by an incredible Billy Bob Thornton. It makes all the right decisions which I can't reveal due to spoilers. Watch this and then watch the TV series. Now.
