Having religiously watched the TV show recently it escapes me how this film was good enough to base an entire show upon? In every way the film is inferior to the show. The characters feel completely one-dimensional and the story focuses more on the actual football matches rather than the drama and internal struggles of the players themselves.
Frankly the story itself is fairly uninspiring and uninteresting. Avoid and watch the TV show instead.
