Review of Friday Night Lights (2004) by José P — 09 Mar 2011
Again, Im NOT a big sports fan but I heard this movie was very good.
I agree, the production value is pretty spectacular.
Peter Berg, (director of 'Hancock') again captures the realism of football played in the 1980's.
The Panthers were at the height of their time and faced the most difficult when it came to the State Championships.
Billy Bob Thornton really carries this film as the headstrong, optimistic coach.
The majority of the movie is pretty much just watching the games play out.
Im glad though by the end it didnt hit me with the biggest cliche of all sports movies.
For football fans it's a dream come true in filmmaking and you should really watch it.
Im gonna be nice and say it was very well-made.
