Review of Friday Foster (1975) by Ben R — 16 Jul 2011
This was a decent Pam Grier flick made during her blaxspoitation boom. She plays a frisky reporter who somehow manages to uncover some kind of scheme involving drugs and a senator. She uses what god gave her to get what she wants just like every other movie I've seen her in but to a much more underwhelming degree here.
I really wanted to like this alot more but when you compare it to coffy or Foxy Brown it just doesn't compare. Great appearances by Yaphett Kotto and Carl Weathers early on in their careers. This is still worth a watch but it can be boring and long winded in the middle.
I also found the ending to be very anti climactic and sorta blah.
