Review of Frida (2002) by Andy W — 15 Aug 2010
This possibly isn't quite the film it could've been, lacking the emotional wallop you'd expect from it's leading charcter's tormented life. However Salma Hayek is completely invested in playing Frida, shes never been better and that goes for the rest of the brillant cast too, Geoffery Rush, Edward Norton, Antonio Banderas, Diego Luna, Valeria Golino(still gorgeous), Ashley Judd and the irrepressible Alfred Molina all shine here.
Punctuated by beautiful visual flourishes the story is told in a straight forward, rather episodic mannor, leading to a touch of dissatisfaction once the final credits roll in what is an otherwise highly watchable piece of drama.
