Review of Frida (2002) by Christina S — 07 Mar 2008
Riveting. A passionate life. A passionate love affair. A passionate death. There will never be another Mexican painter like Frida. Salma Hayek deserved an Oscar for this performance. She breaks your heart with every footstep.
The costumes, the colors and the vibrancy of this movie makes you want to pick up a paintbrush and join the tragedy of feeling life a little too much, of finding love, but not how you want it, of giving in - but never giving up your vision.
Smoke and drink and live your life. Frida equates freedom. Carpe Diem.
