Review of Freshman Orientation (2004) by Joey H — 19 Aug 2008
:rotten: :rotten: (out of four).
For the first twenty minutes of this film I thought I was witnessing one of the most inane comedies to come along in some time. Just about half way through I realized that the tone and message had changed and it wasn't as bad I I initially thought. I still cannot recommend this picture, but I will trash it slightly less..

Sam Huntington plays a horny college freshman who decides to act as though he is gay in order to get close to the girl of his dreams (like that would ever happen). In doing so he attends different gay and lesbian events and learns a little what life is like for someone who doesn't fit right in..

John Goodman has a nice little role as a queenly bartender..
.
The jokes are fairly typical and it only occassionaly rises above mediocre.
Too bad the filmmakers didn't take this story a bit further and they might have actually had a lot to say
..
