Sean nelson (Fresh) provides a realistic portrayal of street wise 12 year old living in the violent and volatile projects. Samuel L. jackson is also convincing in his supporting role as Fresh's father, a speed-chess hustler who advises Fresh about life's truths.
A brilliant directorial debut from Boaz Yakin.
