Review of Frequency (2000) by Patrick G — 23 Aug 2008
Half a good movie. Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel have a nice chemistry, and the father/son story here really works. Unfortunately, the writer had two story ideas and thought they could be meshed together, and the result is "Field of Dreams" meets "Silence of The Lambs," and the result is wholly dissatisfying.
And worst of all, when the movie reaches it''s crescendo as a suspense film and the serial killer is dispatched, then we go straight to a sentimental family baseball game. In short, this movie is suffering from a severe case of bipolar disorder, and we are left with a bungled mess.
