Review of Frenzy (2015) by Stephen C — 03 Dec 2007
After the truly awful Topaz Hitchcock returned to London with this amazing Thriller.
Full of Neat Hitchcock touches including the Camera backing away from a murder and a particulary Gruesome yet funny scene in the back of a Potato truck.
The cast are all uniformly excellent and Alec McCowen is fantastic a sthe policeman whos wife insists on cooking him gourmet meals which would hardly feed a sparrow.
This seems like An Homage to Chabrol whos films are greatly infuenced by Hitchcock also it could be that Hitch was a big food lover yet despised so called Haute Cusine.
Using the soon to be relocated Convent Garden Fruit market is another Stroke of genius as well .
Hitch would go on to make one more film the Flawed but fun Family Plot but this really is his last truly great movie.
