Hitchcock's FRENZY, while never flawless, is solidly suspenseful and achieves new heights of morbidity. I liked not having to sympathize with Finch (who was excellent in Polanski's MACBETH, but I'll get to that).

[Jon] Finch, who plays the neck tie murderer, is an interesting concoction of psychotic maladies. He has a bit of a mother issue, as many Hitchcock murderers do, and a bit (well more than a bit) of a sadomasochistic side.

So if you haven't seen FRENZY, get a copy; for a "minor work," it's affecting and very well done.
