Review of Frenzy (2015) by Jens T — 17 Oct 2012
Even in his seventies, Alfred Hitchcock seems not to want retire, he still got some stories to tell, and one of the greatest in his last years was Frenzy were he goes back to his native England, or more specific in London where a serial killer is on the loose, he's signature is to strangle women with a necktie. Up in all this, we follow the unemployed and divorced Richard, who happens to walk by the office where his ex-wife was strangled, and that makes him the prime suspect, and he have to prove his innocence.
Frenzy is a good suspense thriller, in other words a good arch-typical Hitchcockian film, it has in that sense past the test, and is approved, because it is an Hitchcock film. It's not a film that I would put in the league as his earlier work as Psycho and Rear Window, and Frenzy might feel less original. But what's separates Frenzy from the rest of his film, is that it's more violence and adultery, which we never seen as direct as in this one. To put it this way; If you are an avid Hitchcock fan, you will not be disappointed. Thumbs up.
