On release, many critics hailed this as Hitchcock's return to his roots and as a good thing too. I wholeheartedly agree that this is actully one of Sir Alfred's better films in his later life.

Like traditional Hitchcock, Frenzy is littered with black humour which aims to ease the tension occasionally. Something which is certainatly needed after the much controversial rape scene in the film.

A definate watch as an alternative to Hitchcock who may well be remembered mainly for his overseas mysteries, murderous mothers and espionage thrillers.

This review of Frenzy (1946) was written by on 19 Feb 2007.

Frenzy has generally received positive reviews.
