I just watched this again at a "French" party after many years of not seeing it...Kevin Kline always amazes me with the versatility of the roles he plays. Just comparing this character to his in "In and Out".
...A little cliche, a little generic, but it's still done really well for that and very funny. The scene in his bedroom with the scents of the wine and earth is so lovely also.
