Review of French Kiss (1995) by Chandreyi J — 13 Mar 2009
A cute, refreshingly original romantic comedy with Meg Ryan as an estranged fiancée and Kevin Kline as a French thief. When I say ?original? I mostly mean this because of Kline?s performance. Not knowing him in any other role, you would think he was an actual French actor.
Ryan plays her usual cute, good girl role to a tee here ? not making much of an acting departure but she adds to the movie with her remarkable chemistry with Kline?s character. The story is typical romantic comedy fare, so watch this one for the performances and the witty banter between Ryan and Kline.
Between the likeable characters and sweeping vistas of Paris and the French countryside, this film is guaranteed to entertain.
