In order to summarize the absurdity of this film, I need to first mention ***spoiler alert***. Can someone expalin how about how 10 murders get cleaned up like nothing happened in the course of a week?! Not even cleaned up, because that would require actual details. Did someone forget to develop the story a little bit more before shipping it off to production?! There was definitely room for it to be a good movie, had it not been so utterly disappointing instead. This is just a glorified thug movie in cop uniforms. I would say it was a cop movie, but outside of driving around in police vehicles, I didn't see a single police station, laws being followed, order being created, codes being used, or anything else that would sufficiently imply it actually was a cop movie. Both Whitaker and DeNiro must have gotten cut huge checks to take on a film that would sink so low.

I'm not going to even mention the incessant racist remarks that were excruciatingly uncomfortable to watch, both because they didn't serve a purpose to move the film forward and because it lacked rhyme or reason. (Yes, racism doesn't make sense in the first place. However, when creating a movie, why would you purposely force hatred onto others when it has nothing to do with the film. It's just poor judgement to every person out there who may be affected by it.).

Back to how absurd the film was, there was even one point where DeNiro looks like a wimp (scene where he's on the phone). When does that ever happen?! Absurd!
