Review of Freeheld (2015) by Don R — 14 Sep 2015
Loved it! Haven't cried so much during a film in a long time--not because I was manipulated by trite melodrama, but because the film did an excellent job of making me care about these characters, their love, and their fight.
They were in some way reluctant heroes simply wanting a surviving partner to be able to keep their home. It would take a pretty cynical person to criticize this heartfelt presentation of a simple, tragic story that is so symbolic and representative of larger political and social issues.
