Review of Freedomland (2006) by Brett J — 10 Dec 2006
Julianne Morre is back for yet another thriller about a missing son. This time time her son has been kidnapped by a guy who hijacked thier car. The film benifits from a original material and outstanding performances by Samuel Jackson and Julianne Morre.
They turn in some of there best work. Edie falco plays a activist who specializes in finding missing children. Unfortunatly the film only offers great performances. There is just to many secenes that dont add up and its just fool of loose ends.
There are some very powerfull moments involving the racial tension between the 2 comunities. The film is no where near a disaster. its not a terrible film, but its not great thriller either. It earns points for its almost oscar worthy performances by the two leads and supporting cast.
