2/5. Freedomland isn't all bad. Julianna Moore and Edie Falco are both solid and the fist act is exciting, but the film can't maintain the energy for the entire runtime and the attempts to address racial issues are sloppy.
Also, Jackson's character is a jerk, but we're supposed to root for him.
