After seeing the film again it definitely has some great moments. The best moment is definitely the high jumping of Willy at the end. It does look great and getting the shots of the whale were well done.
It is a film that I enjoyed as a child and it does stand the test of time. It is well done with an original idea about where you belong. It is a serious well done family movie with good messages. It also has a great soundtrack composed by Basil Poledouris and a song by Michael Jackson at the end.
