Review of Free Willy (1993) by Matthew R — 27 May 2010
I loved this film as a kid and now im older I still love it. it starts off with jessie (jason james ritcher) on the run after his mother abandoned him 6 years before he soon gets caught for vandalizing a theme park. His social worker dwight helps him avoid legal issues provoided he cleans up the mess he made at the theme park while there he befriends willy and over time the 2 become very close and jessie teaches him tricks something his own trainer rae has failed to do. the owner of the park has seen how far jessie and willy have come so he decides to put on "the willy show". on the day of the show everybody is ready for the show but willy comes down with stage fright due to the kids banging on his tank. willy smashes against the tank unintentionally damageing it. later while at the tank jessie finds the owner of the parks assistant Wade damageing the tank enough so the water will leak out and kill willy so dail (the owner of the amusement park) can collect the insurance. so jessie rae and jessies friend Randolph Johnson set out to free willy so that he can be with his family.
Free willy is without a doubt one of the greatest family filmms ever made. jason james ritcher plays his part so well you can actully feel the connection and passion he has for willy. it is a film that can be watched and loved by all the family.
