I learned so much more about the Civil War and Reconstruction period, right after, than I ever learned in school. MMcC was great, as always: gritty, handsome, spirited, and good acting. Has some facts about the war, the aftermath and up into the 60's about marriage.

We may have a long way to go, but we've changed a lot in the last 150 years.
