Whatever problems the almighty critics have with this I certainly do not share for the Free State of Jones is easily in my top 5 movies of 2016. Ross has constructed an impressive cast to tell an outstanding true story of an insurrection within an insurrection.
McConaughey does some of his best acting in this and is supported with an excellent cast. Ross has had peaks (Big, Seabiscuit and Pleasantville) and valleys (The Flintstones) in his past but this one can safely go in the plus column.
Some fine cinematography as well. (7-3-16).
