Review of Free State of Jones (2016) by Lisa D — 10 Jul 2016

This was a side of civil war history I had never heard. It was a powerful testimony of the strength of our ancestors. I was inspired by the women and even children who fought together with rifles alongside the men who deserted and runaway slaves to fend off the confederate army looking for deserters and to take personal belongings from the women and children left behind during the war.

I highly recommend the movie.
