Review of Free State of Jones (2016) by Steve S — 12 Feb 2017

It's mostly alright. I liked Matty M as the leader of the movie. Some of the battle scenes were vicious--people getting chunks of their heads or limbs blown off. Yikes. Eventually, the movie introduces a plot line that jumps ahead in time involving a descendant of Newt that feels out of place.

The ending of the main plot seems to lose focus in the home stretch, too. I don't remember anything from the ending, and that's usually not a good thing.
