Review of Free Guy (2021) by Leomusiccritic — 28 Oct 2021

'Free Guy' is surprisingly more enjoyable than I expected with lots of heart, romance, action and even mystery. Ryan Reynolds excels in the role of Guy with the right amount of charm and naivety for the character.

Jodie Comer is also excellent, given the challenge of having to play two versions of the same character in the real world and the Free City world. She brings the right amount of spunk and heart to the character.

The jokes are funny throughout and really make the film that much more enjoyable. The script is decently written with solid pacing and a well-written message but some cliche dialogue in a couple of scenes, that bring the film slightly down.

The cameos throughout also are fun easter eggs that bring that extra layer of fun to the film. This film is a delight that leaves you grinning ear to ear by the end and is a definite watch.
