A movie like this really makes you appreciate what someone like Kevin Smith can do with a low budget comedy. While the film incorporates a ton of pop culture referances (not just Star Trek) into the dialogue, but at no point do any of the characters really have anything clever to say about it.
(ie the "Star Wars" conversation in "Clerks") McCormack looks good surrounded by poor acting proving why he went on to have a successful carrer.
