Review of Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare (1991) by Brando R — 20 Oct 2007
Sure, this is a terrible movie. However, the past five years of making the Nightmare on Elm St. DVD box an October/Halloween tradition has allowed this movie to grow on me so I can appreciate it for what it is (unlike Freddy's Revenge, which is always painful in spite of its unintentional comedy).
While the story is mostly lame and it defies all logic with no rules established for this chapter of the Nightmare universe, this flick is chock full of highly entertaining gags (as cartoony as they may be) ranging from the stretching chalkboard to Freddy's foray into playing with POWER! Bonus points for some awesome music, including tracks from pre-mainstream Goo Goo Dolls.
