Review of Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare (1991) by David F — 21 Nov 2008
Rachel Talalay proves that even the best intentions might count for nothing. There are some nice story ideas that are poorly executed, especially when it comes to effects - and also when it comes to following the "rules" of what makes a Nightmare movie work.
And the laughably take-it-serious acting never quite works with the attempt at "Twin Peaks" type humour and Freddy's (by now) traditional one-liners, which here are taken a step too far, making Freddy seem like a fool.
This is the worst of the lot.
