Review of Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare (1991) by Andreas O — 30 May 2011
Disappointingly ho-hum, without the spectacular - and often very amusing - special effects that have become the hallmark of this series. It makes less sense than any preceding Nightmare film. At least this one is better than its predecessor. The one interesting idea -- what would a town be like if all the teenagers in it had been slaughtered in five movies? -- is thrown away with a few cheap jokes. Even the much-heralded 3-D finale is murky and unimaginative. Full of bluster and gimmickry. Does anyone involved even remember the original movie? Watch for cameos from Roseanne and her then-husband Tom Arnold, Alice Cooper, Elinor Donahue, and Johnny Depp, one of the stars of the very first Nightmare.
VERDICT: "F**k You" - Panned and Lowest rating. These are some of the worst films ever made. These films do everything wrong and do it worse than bad.
