Review of Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare (1991) by Sean L — 23 Mar 2009
This movie is terrible. The stupidity is ramped up to 11, and there is nothing scary about it. That said, I strangely enjoyed this one more than the other bad Nightmare sequels. In this movie, Freddy literally puts a character into a Super Mario Bros style video game and plays it.
He makes a character deaf and literally sneaks up behind him and dances around. The most awe inspiring moment is when Yaphet Kotto, a great under appreciated actor who I love, has to seriously give a pair of paper 3D glasses to the lead protagonist and tell her to wear them in the dream world.
It gets even better when she comes out of the dream world and says that something is different because "I'm still seeing things like I did in my dream" which means she's seeing things in 3D.
I guess that's unusual.
