Review of Freddy vs. Jason (2003) by Baurushan J — 09 Oct 2012
This movie kicked ass both Freddy style and Jason style. This movie was actually a spin off to the Friday The 13th franchise than to the A Nightmare On Elm Street franchise even though it's based off both horror icons from those franchises, it's more towards the Jason franchise.
We were given so many scripts over the years and none of them were being put into production. I can describe two the scripts for you- One of them involved a group of guys being called the "Fredheads" who kidnap the younger sister and then the older sister resurrects Jason by putting her dead boyfriend's heart into him.
..you know what, I'm too dumb with that one. The second one involved Freddy who was not only a counselor at Crystal Lake but he also raped Jason and dumped him into the lake which caused Jason's mum misunderstandingly to kill the other counselors whilst Freddy escaped at the very start.
You know what, who ever wrote these two scripts, they're the real rapists! How hard is it to write a script? Just have Freddy on one side, Jason on the other and let them both duke it out, this isn't rocket science.
So finally we got the actual script in 2003 directed by Ronny Yu. This is my review of Freddy Vs. Jason the story is about Freddy after he has been banished to hell for eternity, he resurrects Jason by manipulating him to help Freddy kill the teens of Springwood and Elm Street.
All goes well until Jason realizes he's been set up by "the dream master" and turns his back against him along with the teens when he finds out the truth. and soon it's the real Freddy Vs.
Jason. This movie is actually dark, intimidating, bloody, gory, and most of all, it's scary like a horror movie should be. Originally, Freddy Vs. Jason had two sequels that were made into graphic novels but were never made into movies which were known as Freddy Vs.
Jason Vs. Ash where Jason gets a bigger role and they connect the story to The Evil Dead with Ash and truly it would have been amazing to see them both as movies as they would have made a ton of money.
This movie was worth the Oscars and at least the BAFTAs but it didn't even get that- what a fucking disappoint. Double the dose and double the success but instead we get double the hatred from the fans.
Freddy Vs. Jason gets a pure 10/10.
