Honestly, I believe this may be the best Nightmare film out there. easily the best Friday the 13th because all of them were horrible. was this horrible? no, I have watched it and re watched it ever since it came out and still enjoy it, that is the quality of a good movie, re-watch ability.

But what does this story revolve around? no not just these two iconic villains fighting, but rather how can Freddy Come back. I have seen some reviews that said their is no storyline and rather just hack and slash, this couldn't be further from the truth.

Krueger states at the very beginning that it is the children of Elm St's fear that provide him with his power, the fact that they fear him make shim powerful. unfortunately all of them have forgotten or have no idea who Fred Krueger is. how did they do this? they locked up everyone who has any idea about Freddy and for some reason while their they don't have any dreams. no dreams, no fear, no fear, no Freddy.

So Freddy uses his mind games to trick Jason into killing teenagers on Elm ST, and naturally everyone would think it was Freddy, but what happens when a killing machine won't stop?

That is nowhere near the whole movie but that is the beginning plot structure right there. no plot though right? But that hardly matters as the clear defining epic moment in this film is the final battle, it's all everyone was waiting for, a classic final confrontation between Freddy and Jason. and it doesn't disappoint. a very decent fight that provides laughs, blood and violence.

So Freddy and Jason are truly great in this film, well not so much Jason he is just as cardboard boring as ever. but what about the teenager cast. well it is rather hit and miss with some characters being good for a horror movie others being boring as ever. the dialogue isn't all bad either most of the time it is perfect. the downside of this film, well there is so much more that could have been done, just like Wes Cravens Final Nightmare. but I would still rate this as one of my favorite horror films of all time, a great movie that won't disappoint fans as much as they fear and should provide non fans with a entertaining watch also.
