Review of Fred Claus (2007) by Rachel K — 14 Oct 2009
Meh, this was ok, but a bunch of talent was wasted in this film. With 3 Academy Award winning Actors in this film(Kathy Bates, Rachel Weiz, and Kevin Spacey), and a Golden Globe/Emmy winning actor(Paul Giamatti), along with the admirable Vinch Vaughn(Wedding Crashers, Old School), I really expected more from this film.
It's not even in the same league as the first Santa Clause movie with Tim Allen, but I guess this will entertain some of it's younger viewers, maybe from ages 8-12.
It just couldn't find the right blend of silly slapstick humor and sentimental family moments, and that is what drags down the film.
