Ok, I took the plunge and watched this silly mess on Christmas Eve. My first reaction? Abhorrently embarrassing. If it was aiming for the "cute family fodder" category it hit its mark. it made the magical $100 million mark and hence made some idiot producer rich.
But aside from that this mess came across as just a stupid film and a complete waste of a really good cast. You have Paul Giamatti, Kevin Spacey, Kathy Bates, Rachel Weisz and Miranda Richardson in the same movie.
You add all their Oscar nominations and wins together and you'd have a crapload of Oscar nominations and wins to add up. But somehow they all came together to make a steaming Christmas turd. C'mon Vince, play someone else other than yourself.
For once. Pretty please? And hey, Ludacris, quit acting. Just because you got a little acclaim for your role in Crash does NOT mean you are a good actor. Playing creepy-freaky, CGI-altered Christmas elfs doesn't help your reputation.
You looked like something out of a Wayans Brothers movie. Go back to making hip hop albums and stay there.
