Dumb, doesn't make a heaping amount of sense (how come Giamatti's Santa ages, but his parents and brother, Fred do not? Why is Elizabeth Banks the only right-sized elf but the rest are midgets? Why does Vince Vaughn's Fred character hang out with an orphan?) and it's really not that funny or clever either borrowing from other movies ala "Santa Clause" and TV movies with the same premise (family member takes over for Santa.
).
