It's good because Vince Vaughn is funny and says lots of things very fast in a funny way, and while it is a bit schmaltzy, it's a Christmas movie, so what do you expect? It's also about family, and people falling out and making up with their family, which is a surefire way to make me cry at a movie.
Not that I did, and if you say I did, you're a liar. Anyway, it's great, and even if it's not quite 'Elf', it's still a great movie about Christmas with Vince Vaughn in it, which is more than you can say for 'Four Christmases', which is AWFUL.
