Fred Claus is a funny little family holiday comedy that while falling short in the comedic routine comes through fully with a heart warming message of family and friends, and the care we show for each other.

Fan's of Vaughn's little tirades won't be completely disappointed but don't expect the vulgar hilarities that we came to love with the Wedding Crashers. Overall the film is perfect for a date night, or better yet family night to get everyone in the Holiday spirit, so I will take it at that.

Giamatti plays a mediocre but convincing St. Nick, but the funnier of the group goes to Kevin Spacey, a suit from a "corporation" that is in charge of monitoring all holiday beings, including St.

Nick, and threating him with unemployment and outsourcing, a nice little nod to social satire. Of course children won't look that far into such hidden meanings, they'll find incredible interest in Santa's workshop, that has been modern-ized, no longer containting wooden trains and dolls, but computer games, robot dinosaurs, and bratz dolls.

Also look for a quirky little Ludacris cameo. All in all a fine holiday film for the whole family to enjoy for a couple of hours.
