Review of Freaky Friday (2003) by Mitch M — 07 Feb 2011
A funny, entergetic remake that entertained me, despite its repeditivness. Its extremely smart script and talented cast (including an unexpected Lindsey Lohan) really charmed this movie. Its a movie for everyone to watch... Kids, adults, teens. You have to be a complete wet blanket to not enjoy this movie at least a little bit. Lindsey is a mess now, but she had some real talent then. She is quite good and even better than Jamie Lee Curtis. Curtis is very good as well as the teenager. There is a lot of laugh out loud moments in this movie, esp when Lohan acts as the strict, wise mother.
The movie is about a reckless teenager daughter, who has a stubborn over the top mother and obnoxious brother. When her band lands a gig at a very famous place in her city, her mother wont let her go. When they go to a Chinese restaurant they are given a fortune cookie that will switch their bodies until they realize what it is like to live in the other's shows.
Its a real comedy that has some real wit in it. I would recommend it to anyone really.
Freaky Friday-- 8/10.
